About This Project
Charlotte and Karim held a civil wedding in the truly unique Abbey of San Galgano, in southern Tuscany. This venue is a stunning setting for a civil wedding – one of the few remarkable external settings for a legally binding, non religious wedding in Italy. The Abbey is ideal for a larger party of guests, and is home to an equally beautiful internal setting in the case of poor weather. But the true charm is the history, aesthetics and feel of the roofless Abbey itself – an open but enclosed, magical space that really creates a sense of occasion without being a formal setting.
Our role in this event was much about creating a coordinated, fluid and functional day for Charlotte and Karim
The group went on to Borgo Santo Pietro for the party. One of the loveliest boutique style hotels in Tuscany. Guests stayed at the villa for three nights, and events were coordinated throughout, leaving everyone pampered, and not too willing to return to life in their home countries. The best of Tuscany for views, cuisine, and accommodation throughout, and on the day, a memorable banquet, great live music into the night, and a setting that was totally breath taking as a backdrop for the wedding day.
Floral design and table set-up was important to the couple, who came to visit with us prior to the event: meeting with Marisa and our team to get an exact idea of the style and needs throughout the event. Large urns were used to complete the ceremony table, while the reception design was kept coordinated with clean, white and pinks to enhance the linen, chairs and ceremony tent itself.
Our role in this event was much about creating a coordinated, fluid and functional day for Charlotte and Karim: they secured a number of the suppliers themselves, which we were there to oversee and assist throughout the weekend. Combining this with our own creative partners, to make an invisible natural flow to all aspects and areas of the wedding.
