Hannah and Daniel arranged a civil wedding in the town hall of San Gimignano, and a reception to follow at the Villa Cristina. The wedding day was one of a series of events held at the villa during the wedding week, including a pizza night the day before the wedding. That’s one of the beauties of a longer stay villa: spending time with family and friends outside of the celebrations means that the wedding event is always so much more relaxed and pleasant for all of the guests.
Hannah arrived at the town hall in a vintage Fiat 500, which was such a beautiful prop for photography through the day.
The colour theme for the event was based on whites and greens – a very natural palette so in keeping with the rural Tuscan setting and feel of the event. We arranged table decorations and the material for the table itself to fit in with this overall idea, from the glass coasters and small chalk-board table names.
Lighting was essential to the feel: we arranged a mix of fairy lights above the tables and strings of Edison lights. We also located fairy lights among the bushes and plants, and LED lights to illuminate the facade of the villa itself. The overall style was to create an effect that would not be overpowering during dusk as the meal started, but effective to create the mood and sufficient lighting later at night.
