About This Project
Naturally, they picked the best when it comes to videography and photogreaphy the stay was covered by Erich McVey for the amazing photography, shot with a mix of analogue and digital over the three day stay, and filmed by the incredibly talented Julie and her team from Elysium productions.
For the music: Joel and his creative music partners arranged the ceremony, with songs written by the groom specifically for the blessing – Italyweddings were honored the couple entrusted us with arranging a live band performing for the rest of the night, playing everything from jazz standards to Aretha and Steevie.
The venue was perfect for this type of event: a small villa in one of the most genuine and unspoiled regions of Italy – the Val D’Orcia in southern Tuscany. The Villa Berenice was a home from home, with all that is wonderful and enticing about Italy, it’s cuisine and hospitality, in one small, magical and elegantly furnished home.
Floral design was to be understated and local. The theme as mostly worked around olive branches and the palette supplied to us by the couple from their printed material. We worked to match these tones through the linen and ribbons and lighting on the day. Leila and Joel preferred candle lighting over electrical or LED illumination for the meal, and at the same time, wanted the long wooden table set up out on the lawn, away from unnatural light – so it was essential to get the right style and quantity of candles that would softly illuminate the table, the meal and the guests for the duration of the night.
Catering was arranged by a top Florentine company, who specialize in bespoke menus, cooked express on site, using only the best local, and seasonal ingredients. The couple also requested a “naked” carrot cake for the wedding cake. Oh – and there was wine – plenty of great Chianti wine!
